Creative Zen Vision portable video player

[November] It might seem like an oxymoron to describe a portable player’s screen as “big,” but the 3 5/8-inch (diagonal) LCD on Creative’s Zen Vision ($400) looks positively huge next to displays on certain other players (think different).
Not only does the Vision eclipse many competitors with its inches, but it also has the pixels to use ’em (640 x 480, to be precise). The 30-gig hard drive welcomes most common digital video formats, and no-brainer software makes them easy to upload from your PC. Better still, the player’s intuitive navigation buttons are thankfully kept to a minimum. To top things off, you get two things not built into any iPod — an FM tuner and a voice recorder — plus an A/V cable for output to a TV. Sure, it doesn’t have a video-recording input, but as a mobile reservoir for checking out all your digital videos, music, and photos, the Zen Vision makes for one powerful porter. —Peter Pachal
