This game is the kind of
ugly that blisters your retinas. But looking for the beauty within reveals something more — a taut, tense thriller that plays out like an interactive
Seven. You are both cop and killer, living out opposite sides of a nasty murder mystery that begins in a dingy diner bathroom. Sure, the graphics of
Indigo Prophecy aren’t Oscar gold, but its “Choose Your Own Adventure” design is something that David Fincher could
never achieve in a theater. Splice in a spine-tingling soundtrack by Angelo Badalamenti and —
voilà! — the visual indiscretions are forgiven.
