The original diva’s first U.S. album in 22 years harks back to her groundbreaking 1980s work, with Sly & Robbie onboard again and some “Slave to the Rhythm”-type sound bites thrown in. Still, the production seems too digitally crisp, and while the sonics overall are familiar, the decadent allure of old is tougher to re-create.
