Reissues (Legacy, downloads)
These seven albums represent a long and spirited decline for Cheap Trick, who lived to tell the tale. A bunch of strong-minded producers had their way with the band, with Todd Rundgren proving the most sympathetic, pushing the melodies forward throughout Next Position Please. The wildly uneven All Shook Up and One On One, produced, respectively by George Martin and Roy Thomas Baker, also have their moments; the latter’s “Lookin’ Out For Number One” is the great undiscovered CT song. Pickings are slimmer on the commercially minded Lap Of Luxury and Busted, but neither is a total washout — only The Doctor holds that distinction.

Like most, record collections have been updated with CDs or digital downloads. Fortunately I kept about 200 of my albums dating back to 1963 . Still have an active turntable and love to pull out the vinyl to hear the original sound. Have quite a few mono records of th Stones, Beach Boys, Dave Clark V to name a few!
Love/The Manor Sessions is The Cults best album.
