The Hives already made their sellout move on 2007’s limp Black & White Album; after a five-year break they’re back to make amends. The short track lengths, bratty swagger, and garage blasts on Lex Hives all hark back to their Matador era, while the wall-to-wall hooks bear out the work they’ve done since.
