The Toadies remain a welcome throwback to the more gonzo days of indie rock, and it’s no coincidence that their album title updates a joke by the Pixies (who once wrote a scream-heavy song called “Rock Music”). Filled with non sequitur lyrics and out-of-nowhere changes, yet loud and catchy from start to finish, it would be perfect for alternative radio if there still was any.
