The young jazz/pop singer teams up with the veteran Motown producer, who co-writes a stack of vintage-sounding songs, complete with echoes of old Motown hits. MoZella doesn’t sound like any of the classic Motown singers — in fact she sounds a whole lot like Macy Gray — but the swinging live-band vibe makes this a throwback in the best sense.
