On the last Bangles album Sweetheart of the Sun, they tossed commercial considerations aside and went back to the late-‘60s sunshine pop that was their original inspiration. Hoffs’ third and best solo album continues in that direction, falling more on the wistful Left Banke side of things (just check the name of her label). Producer Mitchell Froom keeps it warm and organic, not qualities he’s always known for.
