New Release (One Little Indian)
Sinead O’Connor largely makes nice on her first mainstream pop album in ten years, which has a lot of the melodic passion that attracted listeners in the first place and relatively little of the intensity that scared them away (the one bitter pill is a cover, John Grant’s “Queen of Denmark”). Even the anti-Church sentiments will come across as comfort food to fans.
