Mandolinist Chris Thile and his crew are clearly out to give bluegrass-based music a crossover appeal it’s seldom had before, thanks largely to vocals that would sound at home on a mainstream rock record. Some of it works, but the Radiohead cover is as gimmicky as such things tend to be.
