Take away the Jay-Z collaboration — which you probably should, because it doesn’t make any stylistic sense — and Kravitz’s new-label debut is his most enjoyable set in many a year. It’s full of the infectious retro-R&B he makes on those rare occasions when self-importance doesn’t get the best of him.
