An all-covers album that draws songs from Big Star, Travis, Gram Parsons, and Fairport Convention (their anthem “Meet on the Ledge,” no less), this disc attests both to Adam Duritz’s impeccable taste and his great skill in name-dropping; and proves above all that he can make anything sound like a Counting Crows song. But how could they reference the title of the Soft Boys’ Underwater Moonlight without including a Robyn Hitchcock number?
