The Coen Brothers use their unique sensibility and quirky humor to remake the iconic John Wayne movie about a young girl (Hailee Steinfeld) who hires a crusty U.S. Marshal (Jeff Bridges) to avenge her father’s murder. Matt Damon provides many of the laughs as a snooty Texas Ranger and Bridges mixes a Sling Blade-like raspy voice with The Dude’s relaxed spirit. The Blu-ray has a stark clarity, making it one of the Coen’s best shot films and a nice addition to their growing catalog of exceptional movies.
