It’s been 26 years — and one massive scandal — since Pee-Wee Herman (Paul Reubens) teamed with Tim Burton in this cross-country adventure to find his stolen tricked-out bike. This was Burton’s first feature, and perfectly displays the one-of-a-kind quirkiness that still fuels his career. From Large Marge to the “Tequila dance,” it’s iconic, campy, and lots of fun. The quality makes this look sharp and vibrant — especially the blasts of color — and Warner includes all the special features from the DVD, making this a nice upgrade for those in search of kooky adventure.
Video: 1080p 1.85:1; Audio: 5.1 DTS-HD MA; Special Features: Commentary with Paul Reubens and Tim Burton, music-only track with Danny Elfman commentary, additional scenes, production sketches and storyboards, theatrical trailer.
