The critics were not kind to Man on a Ledge. But the movie’s huge plausibility issues don’t really ruin the fun. In this old-fashioned heist thriller from former documentary filmmaker Asger Leth, Sam Worthington (Avatar) stars as a former cop who busts out of jail to prove his innocence after being framed by a creepy billionaire businessman (Ed Harris) for the theft of a $40 million diamond. The pacing is a bit uneven, but the slow roll out of crucial plot details helps maintain suspense. The strong supporting cast includes Elizabeth Banks and Edward Burns as police negotiators.
