Jeff (Jason Segel) is a 30-year-old — without purpose, motivation, or meaning to his existence — who lives in the basement of his mother (Susan Sarandon). One day he trails along with his brother (Ed Helms) who’s tracking his possibly adulterous wife (Judy Greer), and while doing so Jeff looks for cosmic signs to help him discover the universe’s grand plan for his life. This humorous, life-affirming, and thought-provoking movie was written and directed by Mark and Jay Duplass.
