
In this feel-good, based-on-a-true-story family film by director: Ken Kwapis (The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants) a Greenpeace volunteer (Drew Barrymore) and her ex-boyfriend, a northern Alaskan local newspaperman (John Krasinski), attempt to save three gray whales trapped in pack ice. To their aid comes an unusual collection of allies including an oil magnate (Ted Danson), the Inupiat community, the State Department, and Soviet icebreakers, each with their own motivation.
