On the eve of global destruction (scheduled by scientists for 4:44 AM), an actor (Willem Dafoe) and his young painter girlfriend (Shanyn Leigh) lock themselves in a Manhattan apartment to spend their final moments together working, schtupping, watching TV, and generally trying to cram a life-time of intimacy into their few remaining hours.
