AudioTechnica's Elite line includes more, well, elite versions of its existing over-ear, open-back audiophile headphones. The $299 ATH-AD900X was the best new headphone I heard at CES, with a just-slightly bright tonal balance, fantastic detail, tight bass, light weight, and fantastic comfort. Also in the Elite line are the $199 ATH-AD700X (which sounds brighter) and the $169 ATH-AD500X (which sounds softer).
