Is there such a thing as Tron overload? I'll let you know when we get there (it's close). Disney has released more versions of Tron: Legacy than there are bits in a megabyte. Single Blu-ray this, combo disc that, 3D, Original, DVD, and on and on. The ultimate edition of these in fact includes them all. The Five-Disc Combo with Identity Disc Collectible Packaging has the new movie on Blu-ray — in 2D and 3D of course — the original on Blu-ray, a DVD of Legacy, and a digital copy of the same. What makes this set $20 better than the boring, "regular" packaged combo pack is its plastic case, slightly larger than the discs themselves, that resembles an Identity Disc. It even lights up with bluish LEDs. Sold.
The 3D version of the movie looks and sounds the same as when I previewed it a few months ago for my big Tron feature. The stylistic menus are excellent, and the 2D version of the film is just like the 3D, except, you know, 2D.
The extras weren't available at that point, so click through for a look at what's available.
