Despite its modern-looking design, the Glow Amp One kicks it old-school style, using a single-ended Class A pentode design with a pair of 6N3 preamp and EL84 power tubes to pump out 5 watts of RMS power to each channel. Unlike hybrid designs that pair a tube preamp stage with solid-state amplification, the Glow Amp has an all-tube design, with some nice flourishes: a steel chassis, ceramic tube sockets, hand-wound transformers, and point-to-point wiring. Befitting its integrated amp status, you get speaker binding posts, a headphone jack, a USB input, and a built-in DAC for sweetening up digital sounds, plus a choice of high-gloss finishes: silver, black, pearl white, red, and all-black. When I last checked, the company had sold out of its current supply but was expecting more shortly, with some promised internal improvements
