For those with less efficient speakers (or just looking for a bit more sonic oomph), Jolida’s JD102B integrated amp serves up 20 watts per channel of pure tube goodness at only a marginal increase in price. The JD102 uses a tried-and-true push-pull design, with one 12AX7 preamp tube, two 12AT7 driver tubes, and two matched pairs of Electro Harmonix EL84 power tubes. The back of the unit houses gold-plated CD, Tuner, Tape and Aux inputs — tape loop and preamp outs can be added upon request — plus gold-plated 4- and 8-ohm five-way speaker terminals. The front panel includes a power switch, plus chrome-plated metal balance, volume and selector knobs. There’s also a thoughtfully convenient panel on the top of the unit that allows easy access for biasing the tubes, causing tube rollers everywhere to rejoice.
