Sony ES Series A/V Receivers
A good receiver has to know his routes, be lightning fast, and have soft hands. Oh, you meant an A/V receiver? That’s different. A good A/V receiver has to be unfazed by absolutely any connectivity demand that arises. Whatever the input and output demands, the receiver has to handle them. It must act as the nerve center and provide seamless integration with multiroom, third-party control systems. Case in point: Sony’s ES Series A/V receiver offerings, the STR-DA5600ES, STRA-DA4600ES, and STR-DA3600ES.
These 3D-pass-through models can handle any custom installation; they all support DLNA and Ethernet (and can act as hubs), and can be controlled by iPhone apps. The 5600 and 4600 provide multiple HDMI outputs and can send video to a second zone via Cat-5 cable. The 5600 features Sony’s DCAC EX processing for optimizing parameters according to speaker locations and angles. It has soft hands, too. sony.com
