Yamaha Aventage RX-A3000 A/V Receiver Juliet was right, of course. A rose by any other name would still smell as sweet. But as I have pointed out before, I take a dim view of intentionally misspelled product names. If Aventage receivers really had an advantage over other receivers, shouldn’t Yamaha have simply called them Advantage? Or was there some legal bar to doing so?
In any case, the 140-watt x 7-channel RX-A3000 is the tippy top of the Aventage Series, a receiver line that embodies “obsessive attention to detail combined with a multitude of engineering refinements.” In other words, it’s got a lot of cool stuff. For example, it can stream Internet radio stations and play files from a PC or DLNA server, and you can control it with a PC Web browser or an iPhone/iPad app. It also has dual HDMI outputs and HDMI 1.4a pass-through for 3D.
