The amount of performance NuForce has packed into their new Cube is a little difficult to believe at first glance: within the roughly tennis-ball sized cube you'll find a nice sounding 16/48 USB DAC and headphone amp, a rechargeable battery that'll give you up to 8 hours of playback, and — most importantly — a 1-inch speaker that sounds really, really, good. Audio input is via USB or 1/8-inch analog cable (sorry, no wireless, but you can't have everything). So if you're looking for a single, ridiculously tiny unit that'll take care of all of your dad or grad's desktop and travel source needs, consider a Cube.
