The planar magnetic headphones from Audez’e have won the love of countless audiophiles; I’ve heard many say they’re the best headphone you can buy. RMAF saw even more Audez’e affection when the company introduced the $1,945 LCD-3. The LCD-3 uses the same enclosure shape as its predecessor, the LCD-2, but has an entirely new driver design that incorporates everything the company has learned from its past efforts, including a thinner film diaphragm. I thought the LCD-3 sounded amazing and its lambskin ear pads were ultra-comfortable, and couldn’t find a soul who’d disagree.
