Given the Pro-Ject Essential's low price and solid performance, there's really no reason not to give LPs another try. Despite its price, this model — the lowest priced ‘table in Pro-Ject’s lineup — doesn’t skimp on build quality or features, including an MDF platter and felt mat, two-speed belt drive operation, and a straight uni-pivot aluminum tonearm factory fitted with an Ortofon OM3E moving magnet phono cartridge. A fixed RCA interconnect cable and dust cover are included. You even get a choice of three colors — black, white or red — and a USB option is available for about $100 more.
