We’ve seen headphones targeted at fans of hip-hop, rock, and kiddie pop, but I can’t recall seeing any made for country fans until I saw California headphones. The company’s display was a hay truck with the headphones draped over the side rails. The $99 Laredo with 40mm drivers didn’t do much for me, but the $199 Silverado’s 50mm drivers knocked me out with serious dynamic punch, clear mids, and slightly soft highs. And that was with Soundgarden’s “Outshined” playing on my phone. Wish I could tell you what it sounded like with country, but I ain’t got none on mah phone.
