There’s one thing everyone hates about IEMS: They tend to tangle when you toss them in your pocket. The innovative design of Koss’s new IEMs, the $49 IL100 and the $79 IL200 KTC, helps stop the snarls. The earpieces can be interlocked when not in use. I didn’t have a chance to try wadding them up, shoving them in my pocket, removing them, then repeating the process a dozen times, but it seems to me this design will at least lessen the chance of a Gordian knot appearing in your pocket. The two models are basically the same, but the IL200 KTC adds an iOS-compatible inline mic and remote control.
Koss also added an inline mic/remote to the legendary Porta Pro, which has been one of the best budget headphones for serious listeners since the 1980s. According to the Koss rep I spoke with, the new $79 Porta Pro KTC is the same retro design with the same appealing sound, just updated for added convenience
