Nothing really extraordinary about the new noise-cancelling ’phones from AKG, unless you consider the combination of great sound and excellent comfort extraordinary. The $250 K490 NC (shown here in a manufacturer-supplied photo) may be the most comfortable on-ear headphone I’ve ever tried, and I thought it sounded well-balanced and super-dynamic. Michael Berk preferred the sound and fit of the $350 K495 NC over-ear model. Come February, when both models ship, you can give ’em a spin for yourself.
