If you’re anything like me, your iPad hasn’t strayed far from your mitts since you first acquired it. But there are some situations where it might prove useful to relinquish contact — to place it in a mount, for example, so you can do something as basic as reading a recipe while cooking, or as complex as using it as a touchscreen to control your home’s lighting, heating, and whole-house audio.
Vogel’s RingO is a mounting system that enables a variety of uses by providing multiple ways to hold your iPad2. (It’s also compatible with Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1.) The core of the system is the RingO holder, a solid yet flexible sheathing that snaps directly onto your tablet’s back. Once it’s ensconced, you can use the various adapters to create a table stand with portrait and landscape options, a wall-mount, and a car mount so you can entertain small backseat passengers on road trips.
The best part about RingO is that the system is fully modular: It’s a snap to unsnap your tablet from one situation and snap it into the next. Vogel’s also sells a cool Flex Mount option to extend, swivel, and tilt your tablet so it won’t have to remain stuck on the wall. Think of all the uses you’d be able to come up with for that! – Al Griffin
