Before playing Need for Speed: Most Wanted, I was hesitant because the handling had been too loose in developer Criterion’s last game, 2010’s Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit. I'd wanted to love it but it was tough to when I was constantly pinballing off walls and otherwise struggling to maintain a straight path down the road. But, once I played Most Wanted on the show floor I was grinning from ear to ear. It takes the best aspects of Criterion’s superb Burnout Paradise — killer sense of speed, a gigantic open world, chaotic online play — and mixes them with real-world cars and EA’s asynchronous multiplayer system, Autolog. I can feel its hooks in me already.
