The S300 is a much more serious product than the plasticky, rubbery, pastel-colored Bluetooth speakers that dominated CES. It packs a whopping 150 watts per channel Class D amplification. That power's divided between a 1-inch C-CAM (composite/metal) tweeter and a 4-inch C-CAM woofer. A microphone and an internal test tone auto-calibrate the unit; by emitting tones and "listening" for their return, the S300 can figure out how close it is to walls and other boundaries and adjust its bass response to compensate. Besides AirPlay, it also has a USB input for direct computer connection. Expect a June intro at a price of $500 to $600.
