I'm not a big fan of horn speakers, but the JBL Project Array 1400s were great. Powered by Mark Levinson gear, the 1400s had powerful dynamics, tight transients, and huge bass from the 14" woofers. The three way design is rated from 32 Hz to 40 kHz thanks to a tiny compression driver that crosses over at 20 kHz. They're not even that expensive, at least compared to the others here, at $11,500 a pair. JBL.com
