Audio-Technica had a bunch of new headphones at their booth in South Hall. The in-ear noise-canceling headphones, ATH-ANC23 ($99.95), are cool not least for their 90% noise reduction, but their Comply foam ear tips that are claimed to be 30 times softer than the silicone used with most in-ear headphone earbuds.
On the audiophile headphone side there's the ATH-W1000x ($699.95), ATH-AD900 ($299.99 ) and ATH-A900 ($249.99). The ATH-W1000x has a 53 mm driver and a claimed frequency response of 5 Hz to 42 kHz. The AD900 is similar to the 1000z, but sports an open-air design. Claimed frequency response is 5 Hz to 35 kHz. The A900 is a closed-back design with Audio-Technica's Double Air Damping system. Frequency response is a claimed 5 Hz to 40 kHz.
