Monster Cable's Noel Lee this week proclaimed that headphones were the new loudspeakers. I'd take that with a grain of salt given that his company makes headphones and not speakers. Well, at least not anymore. But his sentiment is certainly valid, at least. With the lower cost of entry, the incredible sound quality possibilities, and the fact that nearly everyone has a portable audio device that they'd love to sound better. So to those ends, here's a roundup of the new headphones announced at the show. Monster Cable We covered the new Monster headphones during their press conference. The selection includes a new, cheaper version of the Miles Davis Tributes known as the Trumpet due to their "cute" trumpet-like aesthetic. They also have two pairs of over-the-ear headphones. The $59 T3s are fairly basic, while the $349 Tron-themed T1s are decidedly more performance-oriented. Like everything else Tron-related, they have glowing blue lights all over them.
