I haven't witnessed such a combination of toughness and cuteness since Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure. I watched the BOOM rep toss the $149 Urchin onto the floor, and the little guy kept right on playing. It's rated water resistant to IP level 5, which means it can take a three-minute blast from a hose. In addition to the blue silicon skin, BOOM offers skins in nine other colors. It works as a speakerphone, too. A 1/4-20 threaded socket in the bottom holds it fast to the optional bike handlebar mount, and BOOM includes a suction-cup mount, a carabiner clip, and a screw mount attachment. It seemed to play pretty loud; I could hear it clearly even against the blaring music in the suite.
