They say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and to prove it, we've put together a slideshow of 10 of the most visually impressive speakers in the world. Of course, sound is still king, so each speaker on our list has the performance to match its looks. Disagree with some of our picks? Feel free to leave your favorites in the comment section.
Vivid Audio G2 Giya
Price: $50,000
If Willy Wonka made speakers instead of candy, he might have produced Vivid Audio's G2 Giya, perhaps the most polarizing design of our group. About 15 inches shorter and $25,000 cheaper than the company's flagship G1 Giya, the four-way, five-driver G2 Giya rocks the same looping, tapered-tube shape—really a folded-horn design—that culminates in the curl at the top. Not surprisingly, it's the brainchild of Laurence Dickie, who also designed the B&W Nautilus. The one-piece, curved enclosure, which has tuned ports on either side, is made of a vacuum-infused fiber composite reinforced with carbon fiber, much like a racecar or speedboat. You get a choice of six metallic auto-paint finishes, including my favorite, Borollo Red.
