One of the best things about Jet's debut was simply that it was a debut & and you can't beat a bunch of hungry lads tearing into their Stones and Stooges licks. This sophomore effort comes across like, well, a sophomore effort: more craft, less sweat, slightly sharper hooks, a couple of obvious hit-single follow-ups. There's also a garage-or-arena identity crisis that extends to the sound: Imagine the Stooges' Fun House with huge, modern drums.
