Co-screenwriter/star Will Ferrell sets his comedic sights on NASCAR culture, with results that are predictably amusing. While some of the gags get old, Farrell's before-dinner prayer to "Lord Baby Jesus," complete with corporate sponsorship, is worth a rental all by itself, and Sacha Baron Cohen (taking a break from Borat) steals more than a few scenes.

The colors in this extended edition (offering 13 more minutes) aren't nearly as bright as I'd expect, and the soundstage is less than immersive, even at the racetrack. Cast and crew are gathered together for a mock-serious commentary that wears out its welcome real quick, but the endorsements, public-service announcements, and gag reel are good for a few laughs. You also get a wealth of deleted scenes, outtakes, and interviews with the cast (in character).
