Woody Allen's comedy-mystery about a conjurer and a rookie reporter on the hunt for a killer comes in a transfer of mixed quality: The rich reds in Allen's magic show (and, more importantly, Scarlett Johansson's bathing suit) are fully saturated, but the varied greens of the British countryside have a tendency to blur together. Interiors, though — especially the country-club swimming-pool scenes — boast strong detail. The mono soundtrack doesn't have much to do other than convey dialogue, which it handles just fine.
[PG-13] English, Dolby Digital 2-channel mono; letterboxed (1.85:1) and anamorphic widescreen; single layer.
