Everyone is showing off their Internet-connected devices, and Samsung is never one to be left behind. The new Samsung Yahoo! Connected TVs will feature TV Widgets - icons that let you connect directly to the features you'll use most - weather, stocks, sports, traffic and more.

Yahoo, Intel Push Internet-enabled TV

Seems like everyone is looking to bridge the gap between your computer and TV. Yahoo and Intel are the latest to join the party. They've allied with some of the big names in the TV world, including Samsung and Toshiba.

Yahoo hopes the Widget Channel will catch on, while Intel wants to get its foot in the door as the processor-of-choice for TV manufacturers.

Remember Convergence? How diverse industries such as telecommunications and entertainment were supposed to merge and create weird new offspring? Well, yesterday at the Intel Developer Forum, Intel and Yahoo announced a bit of partnership/convergence action. They want to build a platform that will embed applications on next-generation HDTVs.
