Check the weather — looks like a freeze might be coming. Back in the day, PS3 was Blu-ray, Xbox 360 was HD DVD. And, Toshiba was HD DVD, and still refuses to switch to Blu-ray. My, oh my, how times are changing.

Microsoft lets you channel your inner idol with their new singing game, "Lips." Exclusively for the Xbox 360, "Lips" is a singing game that comes complete with motion-sensing bedazzled microphones, wireless of course, that lets you sing to your heart's content.

Sure, the high-def format war was tense and bloody, though it had nothing on Call of Duty 4 or Assassin's Creed.

But for gamers who don't already own both a PlayStation 3 and an Xbox 360, the format war may have left them feeling just a little unsatisfied. Sony's PS3 comes with a built-in Blu-ray player, while the Xbox 360 supported an optional HD DVD drive.
