Toshiba's Sexy Little Pocket Pico Projector

Tiny LED projectors aren't on everyone's wish list, but you gotta admit, this is a sexy little projector. The Toshiba LED pocket projector debuted at Europe's IFA 2008 show. This little specimen weighs in at a scant 100 grams, and measures just 10 x 4.5 x 1.7 centimeters. Specs are limited, but supposedly it offers 10 Lumens of brightness.

Next time you're in New York City, look up in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane! Nope -- it's the new Toshiba LED display taking over the prime spot on top of One Times Square, 285 feet over the crowds on Broadway. This spot used to be claimed by another Asian giant. We can only speculate how much it took to take over that location.

Tenacious Toshiba News

Wow. Talk about never giving up. Or not giving up without a fight. Sometimes it's best to give up and walk away with a modicum of respect. Apparently, Toshiba doesn't think so.

We all know that Blu-ray beat out Toshiba-backed HD DVD. Toshiba hasn't announced plans to produce Blu-ray, and this latest news is just bizarre.

Toshiba changed their stripes when Blu-ray demolished HD DVD. So, in addition to abandoning red, they're going green. Methanol fuel, produced naturally from a variety of sources, is the main component in Toshiba's Direct Methanol Fuel Cells.

Excuses, excuses. Television executives like to say that upgrading certain shows to high-def not only costs mountains of cash, but would be inconvenient for certain types of programming. Such as shows, where, you know, a behemoth high-def camera would take up too much room or intimidate actors.
