Hope you didn't buy stock in Roku, the Netflix-enabled set-top box. At the moment, new LG owners have no need for that external box - or any other type of box. At CES, LG will be showing off its new line of LCD and plasma TVs with Netflix streaming software already built in. No Roku required.

Netflix HD Upgrade for LG's BD300

LG's BD300 Blu-ray player is getting an upgrade. I know, it's about time! Joining the likes of Samsung and TiVo, the BD300 is getting a firmware update that give it access to Netflix HD streaming. Woo-hoo.
The upgrade, vBD8.11.480 will also fix a problem on the BD-Live menu.

Early year-end present for Netflix! They had hoped to have 500,000 subscribers paying an extra $1/month to be able to get Blu-ray discs by the end of the year. They've already met that goal, a few weeks ahead of schedule. Do the math - Netflix is making an extra $500,000 per month by offering Blu-ray. Holy cannoli! When the economy tanks, folks stay home and watch movies.
