Interesting news in my mailbox this morning. Remember the Sharper Image? You know, the snazzy electronics and gadget retailer who went belly-up earlier this year?  (Along with my extended warranty on my digital camera, to say nothing about my Ionic Breeze air purifiers . . . )

Sony just announced four new products designed to work with both iPods and iPhones. All four make it easy to listen to your tunes without tying you to headphones, and all four work with both iPods and iPhones.

Samson is a small manufacturer of studio gear and audio monitors. Nope — not a typo — a different company from Samsung. Good luck with that one. Back on topic — Samson just released a new speaker system that's perfect for your office, home studio, or listening room. The StudioDock 3i system is a pair of studio-quality monitors, one with an iPod dock and USB interface.

You're at a business lunch and you realize you need to show your clients a picture of your marketing plan for their hot new widget. You have a picture of your ad idea stored on your phone, or it's stashed on your iPod. So there you are, huddled around a 2-inch screen as you try to explain the details they can't see.

"Ladies and gentlemen, we've reached a cruising altitude of 10,000 feet, and the captain has turned off the fasten seatbelt sign. You are free to use personal electronic devices at this time, and feel free to plug in your iPod or iPhone into our new docking and charging systems."
