There was no shortage of cool stuff being pitched by TV makers at this year’s CES. While 55-inch OLED sets around 4 millimeters thick nabbed the spotlight (rightly so, since they weren’t prototypes but actual products scheduled to come out in 2012), we were also surprised by the number of 4K models — some of which were also real products on target for a 2012 release.

Not that 2D images can convey what 3D looks like, but here are some images that'll give you an idea about the limitations of current glasses-free 3D.
These images are from Toshiba’s booth, where they were showing off some surprisingly complete-looking autostereoscopic 3D TVs.

Back at CES 2011, Toshiba had promised to get a glasses-free 3D TV set of reasonable size to market by 2012, and true to their word the company rolled out a 55-inch model, the ZL2, today at Berlin's IFA consumer electronics show.
