When I attended my first Consumer Electronics Show in 1990, Microsoft was a relatively small company that had had one real hit (MS-DOS) and was struggling to gain traction with its other applications. I don’t think the company even exhibited at CES back then.

DTV Delay Alternatives

We reported last week about President-elect Barack Obama's desire to postpone the DTV transition, mainly because the poor and elderly weren't prepared. Now, the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) is suggesting alternatives to keep the transition on track for a February 17 switch.

A survey conducted by the Consumer Electronics Association and the Sports Video Group shows that 38 percent of sports fans expect to download and watch a game--at no cost--over the next few years. That's up 10 percent from last year.
