Universal Studios just announced that those in possession of the just-released Hellboy II: The Golden Army, and who own a Profile 2.0 Blu-ray player, will get to partake in a first-of-its-kind BD-Live chat event.
Samsung's BD-P1500 is getting better. BD Live is the next big thing to hit Blu-ray players, and it's now available as an upgrade for the Samsung BD-P1500. The upgrade is available as a download that you can get two ways. Connect the player to the Internet for an automatic update, or download it to a CD on your computer.
It's gonna be worth the wait — Corel's WinDVD Blu-ray playback software has received certification for BD-Live, or BD Profile 2.0. This certification is granted after guidelines and standards are checked by the Blu-ray Disc Association.
The current version is already impressive with upscaling and a host of other features. However, adding BD-Live opens up a whole array of options.
The long-awaited addition of BD-Live features to Blu-ray releases is over. Well, the wait will be over soon. Disney has previewed the BD-Live functionality on Sleeping Beauty at a recent conference in Hollywood. Word is it looks good.
Now that it's a Blu-ray world in high-definition video discs, expect to see a lot more product available on both the hardware and content sides. That gives you a wide range of options when it comes to allocating your bucks.
