It's not broken. Hey, I was still using an old RPCRT until it did break. The 3-gun projector, or 3-CRT rear project still sets the bar for color accuracy, much as the IBM Selectric Ball or, better yet, the variable-space Presidential IBM typewrite set the standard for "letter quality" for years in printing.

I think that it's fabulous that one genius engineer has been able to stick with one line of products at one company with extensive resources for an entire career. I hope that he continues to make sure that his "CD" players still play SACDs as well.

I dealt with the problem of having analog and digital audio live together 30 years ago, and while I wasn't taken away in an ambulance, all of our units seemed to catch a "flu" and die over the course of their first year or so in service until we discovered that an accepted practice was in fact a design flaw.

What great economistic engineeric answers. The comment "It’s like cooking!" was truly a gem. Enjoyed the conversation Brent Butterworth!
